about

What happens when four semi-feral 13 and 14-year-olds are given a public platform to ‘play’ instruments and shout down microphones whatever filth enters their tiny young heads?
Dear friend, you are about to find out, as we journey back to the balmy spring evening of May 14th 1994.
Heatham House - where The Walking Abortions first gobbed our puberty-riddled punk rock into the face of the general public - has played host to the cream of Twickenham’s underage talent for many moons, but for half an hour on this particular night, talent went AWOL and was temporarily replaced by a heady blend of misplaced confidence and an overwhelming desire to piss everyone off intensely.
Hear us hurl profanity-laden diatribes at anyone foolhardy enough to heckle us (including a very drunk Jimmy Pursey and our future drummer, Noj), and shudder as we attempt to alienate our entire audience with an improvised song mocking fans of the recently-deceased Kurt Cobain.
This was an early performance in the WAs’ lolloping career, and whilst seasoned followers will recognise mainstay anthems such as ‘Four White Walls’ and ‘Where Does Jenny Live?', you now have the privilege of being introduced to some dubious lesser-known entries in the canon.
Many of these nascent efforts are preceded by rambling dedications, such as the decidedly ungallant epistle to Sam's ex before 'STD's', and a virulent dressing-down of our sworn enemies The Purple Hermits to kick off the bafflingly foul 'Spastic Beat'.
Much of this inter-song banter is quite long, quite embarrassing, and probably a bit offensive, but what can we say? We were too young to know any better. Or care.
So crank up your middle-aged computer monitors, crack open a Super T or three, and dive into the teenage moshpit of yesteryear. We'd love to be able to say you'll be glad you did.
